Customs / Procurement Coordinator

The Customs/Procurement Coordinator supports the company's global businesses and drives
efficiency by leveraging the company’s logistics resources through strategic leadership.
This position works under the Country Manager but will receive guidance and direct supervision
from the Base Manager and Supply Chain Management staff, engaged in strategic and tactical logistics support for global business activities and exhibits a customer service
focus, that enables internal customers to succeed in a manner that protects the company’s
interest with safety at the forefront. This role will be responsible for overseeing Logistics,
Freight Forwarding, Packing, Warehousing, Shipment Tracking, Invoice Evaluation, and
Reporting of materials being shipped for the International Business Units. The secondary
function will be to execute and coordinate all purchasing activities, liaising with
suppliers to manage and coordinate a reliable supply chain process and supporting all procurement requirements through efficient order processing.

Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area within
the Company which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following
• Follows internal control procedures when working with Brokers or Customs.
• Communicates with the company's Business Units to ensure shipping time tables and
schedules are met.
• Monitors the shipping of all materials and equipment for the Business Units.
• Reviews shipping paperwork to ensure its accuracy prior to shipment to avoid
Customs delays
• Monitor Freight Forwarder/ Agents to ensure they are in compliance with the Foreign
Corrupt Practices Act and UK Bribery Act.
• Ensures shipments are compliant with all safety and environmental rules and
• Reviews Freight Forwarder’s packing specifications to ensure all materials are being
properly protected for shipment to international locations.
• Coordinates the shipping of all materials and equipment for International Business
• Coordinates transfer of materials and equipment from the Vendor to the Freight
• Reviews/audits invoices to ensure accuracy of charges.
• Participates in the annual contract renewal for Freight Forwarding and Shipping
• Reviews logistics networks to improve service to internal customers and reduce
logistics costs.
• Ensures all logistics functions are performed in accordance with company policies,
Delegation of Authority, FCPA standards and trade compliance requirements
• Prioritizes, communicates, and provides administrative support to ensure orders meet
• Working understanding of Incoterms and how they are applied
• Working understanding of Import and Export tariff classifications and how they are
• Carry out all in-country local activities related to contracts and Procurement
such as drafting, preparation, finalization, negotiation and execution of LPO’s
and LSO’s
• Compiles information and records to draw up RFPs & POs for material and services
• Builds and maintains a close relationship with Office and Operations teams to assist
in defining procurement requirements
• Reviews contracts and contractor bid proposals for accuracy, compliance and bid
• Follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, and maintains necessary records
• Maintains and updates as required, a procurement filing system
• Carry out a risk assessment of local contracts and co-ordinate and ensure that
adequate insurance covers and other mitigation measures are in place.
• Generate daily and/or monthly reports on the status of the contracts activities:
LSO/LPO logs, local content, shore base activities for data sharing, escalate to the
Global Procurement Manager for corrective action.
• Carry out regular evaluation of the sub contractors and provide feedback on their
performance and areas for improvement.
• Follow all FCPA regulations and company policies.

Five-10 years of Logistics and Procurement operations experience, preferably in the Freight
Forwarding arena. Minimum of five years Oil and Gas experience preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree or additional equivalent experience.


• Must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of oilfield base operations
and port operations
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with contractors.
